Stormwater Hydrologic/Hydraulic Modeling Experience
Michael Galura Engineering Consultants uses a variety of software applications to conduct stormwater modeling for simple and complex systems. This includes the use of Interconnected Channel and Pond Routing (ICPR) Version 3.0 (Streamline Technologies) and HEC-RAS (River Analysis System) Version 4.0 (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). These two programs are accepted for FEMA-related studies pertaining to the mapping or remapping of flood hazard areas associated with a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) and Map Changes.

Stormwater, Drainage and Water Quality Design Experience
Michael Galura Engineering Consultants has significant experience in the the design of stormwater, drainage and water quality projects. This includes the design of stormwater ponds, urban (curb and gutter) and rural (roadside swales) drainage systems, and water quality systems (conventional and unconventional Best Management Practices). The design services for these types of projects encompassed the preparation of construction plans, project manual(s), bid schedule, project cost estimate, bidding assistance, and assisting the municipality with the administration of the construction contract through post-design services.
Environmental Permitting Experience
Michael Galura Engineering Consultants has been involved with and has successfully secured permits for stormwater, drainage and water quality related projects through various State agencies including the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD), the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). Michael B. Galura's working relationship with the various District and Department staff personnel and knowledge of the permitting process provides its governmental clients with a streamlined process in securing construction authorization in a timely manner for various types of stormwater/drainage capital improvement projects, especially retrofit projects
Grant Writing and Administration Experience
Michael B. Galura, P.E., has assisted several municipal governments and has been successful in securing grant funding to assist in the implementation of stormwater and water quality related capital improvement projects. Grant writing assistance includes applications for the 319(h) Nonpoint Source Management grant program (administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection); Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and administered by the State of Florida Division of Emergency Management (DEM); and the State and Tribal Assistance Grant (STAG) program, which is administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA).
